A case study about Nike revealed that they had built such a powerful brand that they were capable of selling a Rs. 200 (actual worth) shoe for Rs. 4000! Brand-building is a very interesting subject. Strangely, I agree on most of the points highlighted by you. Two days before I had a great opportunity to talk with Dr. Vivek Patkar. He has written and published many national/international journal papers on urban development in India. He also written books on Mathematics. He said that we Indians has everything but we are lacking in documentation. This is the reason also we are not having much Indian context case studies.<br /><br />The subject like maths, finance may not require case studies with variation of geography. But certainly, human science, economy, supply chain management do require different case studies for different geography (as there is no strategy as world class strategy). And as management institute in India we need to produce more managers who will serve for India. <br /><br />The IIM&#39;s has already taken this initiative. Some of the professors are writing their own case studies. There is one professor who has written operations management book in Indian Context and they are using it for teaching. But other B-schools are still following the same old path.
